The Use of Anhydrous Sodium Sulfate in Industry

Anhydrous sodium sulfate is a salt produced by the combination of sulfate radical and sodium ion, and its chemical formula is Na2SO4. Anhydrous Sodium sulfate is soluble in water, and its solution is mostly neutral, soluble in glycerol but insoluble in ethanol. This substance can be used both as medicine and in industrial production. Mainly used in manufacturing glass, porcelain glaze, paper pulp, refrigeration mixture, detergent, desiccant, dye thinner, feed, tanning, oil and gas pipeline anticorrosion, metal smelting, surface treatment, filler and other industries.

Application of Anhydrous Sodium Sulfate in Industry

1. The glass industry is used as a cosolvent instead of soda ash.

2. The chemical industry is used to manufacture sodium sulfide, sodium silicate (water glass) and other chemical products.

3. The textile industry is used to prepare vinylon spinning coagulants.

4. The washing industry used for synthetic detergent filler.

5. Cooking agent used in papermaking industry to make kraft pulp.

6. Used in nonferrous metallurgy, leather and other aspects.

7. It can be used as a buffer in sulfate zinc plating to stabilize the pH value of the plating solution.

8. Used to produce powder concrete admixture and cement admixture.

9. In the organic synthesis laboratory, it is the most commonly used post-treatment desiccant.

10. Used as analytical reagents, such as dehydrating agent, nitrogen digestion catalyst, interference inhibitor in atomic absorption spectrometry.

11. It can be used as a buffer in sulfate zinc plating to stabilize the pH value of the plating solution.

12. Used as feed for livestock and poultry. Sulfur is one of the essential mineral elements in animals.
