What is Activated Aluminium Oxide Used for
- Desiccant: Deeply dries air, gases, and liquids (such as petroleum cracking gas and natural gas), with a dew point down to -55°C.
- Adsorbent: Defluoridation of drinking water, deacidification (transformer oil), and removal of harmful substances (hydrogen sulfide, hydrogen fluoride, formaldehyde) from waste gases.
- Catalyst and Support: Petrochemical industry (hydrogenation treatment), automotive exhaust purification, utilizing its highly dispersed surface to support catalysts.
- Others: Chromatographic analysis, refractory materials, wastewater treatment decolorization and deodorization.

Yes, when handled properly. It is considered relatively non-toxic and non-irritant as an excipient. However, avoid breathing dust — inhalation of fine particles may cause lung damage over time. Always use in well-ventilated areas
It depends on application. For water treatment, it can last 6-8 years with proper regeneration. For gas drying, it can be regenerated hundreds of times before replacement is needed.
It works through ion exchange — the surface hydroxyl groups exchange with fluoride ions in water. Best performance at pH 5.5-6.5. Removal capacity is typically ≥2.5 mg F⁻ per gram of media.
