Sodium hypochlorite (bleach) is an inorganic chlorine-containing detergent. It is currently widely used in the medical, health epidemic prevention, industrial and agricultural industries for cleaning. In recent years, scientists have done a lot of research to solve the instability and storage and transportation problems. Now, a large number of new composite products have been launched. These formulations overcome some of the disadvantages of sodium hypochlorite and enhance its practicality.

Industrial sodium hypochlorite solution is a pale yellow liquid with a smell similar to chlorine. Strong oxidizing sodium hypochlorite solution is soluble in water, and its density is determined by the effective chlorine content. Sodium hypochlorite reacts violently with organic substances or reducing agents. The aqueous solution is alkaline and slowly decomposes into NaCl and NaClO. It decomposes rapidly when heated and exposed to light. It is decomposed at high temperatures, producing toxic and corrosive fumes, which are corrosive.
In the water treatment process, a certain concentration of sodium hypochlorite is added to clean and kill the water. Generally, sodium hypochlorite is mainly used for bleaching, industrial wastewater treatment, papermaking, textiles, pharmaceuticals, fine chemicals, and sanitation cleaning in many fields. It is mainly used for bleaching pulp, textiles (such as fabrics, sweaters, etc.), chemical fibers, and starch. It is used as a bleaching agent for fats and oils in the soap industry.
It is used in the chemical industry to produce hydrazine, monochloramine and dichloramine. It is also used to produce chlorinating agents for cobalt and nickel. In water treatment, it is used as a water purifier, corrosion inhibitor, and cleaner. In the dye industry, it is used to manufacture thio-sapphire blue. In the organic industry, it is used to produce chloroform, calcium carbide hydration, and acetylene washing agents. In agriculture and livestock, it is used as a cleaner and deodorant for vegetables, fruits, animal pens, and stables. Food-grade products are used for cleaning fruits, vegetables, and drinks, as well as sterilizing and cleaning food processing equipment and utensils.
